When Music Was New

Every note,
Every sound,
Was delightful,
The harder,
The faster the piece
- the better,

But nearly 20 years have gone,
Since I learnt to play that first song,
The danger of failing,
The excitement of triumph,
The constant challenge,
Has led me to now,

Write my own songs,
And so I write and write,
And play these songs close to my heart,
And wonder where it will lead,
If I can feel the way I felt,
Way back at the start.

Happy New Year 2012! Year of the Dragon rarr!

and may it be a prosperous one for us all! :-)

hope you had a good xmas and are all enjoying the new year so far!

things have been a bit quiet on the YouTube front (I know) but I’ve been having fun writing and playing new music……so that counts!

Just having fun and enjoying music again, new influences, trying to find new inspiration and keeping it fresh ;-)

Afterall, Beethoven’s 9th Symphony (Ode To Joy) wasn’t written in a day! ;-)

I saw the movie “Immortal Beloved” last night, and so it’s been on my mind, ah so tragic his loves and the eternal mystery – who was Beethoven’s “immortal beloved”? I didn’t like the “answer” revealed in the movie but I enjoyed the music and how he was “brought to life” and having a glimpse and a taste of what his life was possibly like at the time. Also, I like watching period dramas with the fancy costumes and it was exciting to see all the different pianos used! Apparently, the ones in the movie date back to his time (late 1700s-early 1800s) which gave it added “wow” factor!  :-)
